Everyone who is still using Windows XP should start to upgrade it to newer versions, this is because Microsoft has announced that Windows XP will go out of support up through April, 2014.
While Google announced today that it plans to support Chrome for Windows XP up through April, 2015. What Google does with its Chrome on XP, is the very real impact for Microsoft's choice that it intends to stop security support for XP.
It does seem odd, why Google isn't taking its plan at the same date with Microsoft, or at least distance one month after the shutdown date of XP security support. And Google reasoned that it’s all about taking care of Chrome users during the transition period to newer versions of Windows.
In reality, about hundreds of millions of Chrome users is still relying on XP, and that is actually not that easy to migrating, because there are many organizations still use hundreds of applications on Windows XP and they probably have trouble migrating. Google itself will continue to strive to support Chrome for XP during the transition period and making a protection to against malware and phishing attacks by updating the latest security fixes.
Well, Google have an argument that's strong for that. Although, it takes a year to finally make the transition to Windows 7 or 8.
