The study involved 600 patients with coronary heart in a hospital in Denmark. They were given some questionnaires to find the feeling dominated to their mood. Next, the respondents observed for five years before researchers ended up drawing an inference.
After five years running, the result shown up. The patients who develop a positive emotion had 42 percent less likely to die with any reason during the follow up period. The death rate occurred in the patients with positive emotion is less than 10 percent. Conversely, the patients who are having a bad mood were 16,5 percent died or there were 50 deaths among them.
The researchers have found that a positive emotion can drive the patient to do certain exercises, which of course are good for their heart. Combining a positive emotion with exercise may few day reduce their risk of hospitalization.
Susanne S. Pedersen, a Professor of Cardiac Psychology at Tilburg University, Tilburg Area, Netherlands, says that the research is not only focuses on the improvements of positive emotion in cardiac rehabilitation, but also ensure the patience to do exercise in regular basis.
